This is how we do it

As most of you know, I don't spend much money on clothes.  It's sort of been ingrained in me from a very early age.  My parents rarely buy anything that isn't on sale and coupons reign supreme when it comes to grocery shopping, and clothes shopping for that matter.  Finding the best deal is really a hobby for my dad and I've learned a bit from his little obsession.  All that to say that I get really excited when I find a good deal on something and I'd like to share with you one of my recent shopping triumphs.
A couple of weeks ago I learned from Hip2Save.com that Old Navy had winter clearance items up to 90% off.  I had to at least check it out.  So often the clearance items at Old Navy are just a bummer but I actually came across quite a few wearable items.  At the end of the day I spent $28.85 and saved $96.76.  All the items I purchased were on clearance for at least 40% off, then Old Navy had a storewide sale of an additional 30% off almost everything.

Here's what I got:

Two blouses, one tank top, a skirt (it's on the bottom left and matches the color of my carpet), and a pair of jeans...for $28.85!

I love the ruffles on this blouse, which cost $5.59

And the pockets on this skirt are totally what sold me...not to mention that fact that the final price was $1.73!

This tuxedo-style tunic is so stinkin' cute and only cost $6.99.

I bought this exact same tank top a couple of years ago and recently used it for the previous post where I added lace ruffles.  Now I have a replacement that only cost $1.73.

Oh my gosh, and the jeans!  The final price on these jeans was $10.49.  That's down from $29.50.  The best part about them is that they are short and I didn't have to hem them.

I love seeing price tags that look like this:

This is the tag for the skirt.

This just goes to show you that you don't have to spend a lot of money to have cute clothes.  Really you just need to have patience for the sales :)

  1. As a fellow bargain lover, I must say those tags made me happy just looking at them. You found some good steals. I really love Old Navy's clearance. I've found many items for ridiculously low prices, which I bought simply to use for reconstruction projects, or just to use the fabric, etc.
